Baseball Four Game Winning Streak Snapped in 6-4 Defeat

The Pride baseball team suffered a 6-4 setback at home to Maine Presque-Isle on Tuesday night to snap a four game win streak.  Greensboro, now 4-3 on the season, lost despite a nine-hit offensive attack.

The Pride fell behind, 3-0, after two and half innings of play but rallied to tie the game at 3-3 with a single run in the bottom of the third, fifth and eighth innings.

The Owls, however, responded with three runs in the top of the ninth to regain the lead at 6-3, and gave up only one run in the bottom of the frame to earn the win.

Greensboro was led by Michael Cobb, who had three hits, while Matt Irwin contributed two.  Brian Robbett suffered his first loss on the mound.  Robbett allowed two earned runs in a third of an inning of work.  Jacob Cadle started the game and went seven strong innings, giving up three unearned runs.
